Circumcision of the Heart Ministry
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit,
and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Philippians 3:3
Memories—Home-Goings
We would like to express our sympathy to Leroy Davis and his family in Jamaica, for the loss of his father.

Mr. Jeremiah Davis has been a blessing to many. Mr. Davis along with Saint John Presbyterian Church acted as our liaison, making it possible for us to be able to support the 87 students , who attends the school sponsored by the church.

Dad

I’ll always remember that special smile,
that caring heart, that warm embrace, you always gave us.

Thank you  for being there for mom and us;
through good and bad times, no matter what,

I’ll always remember and love you Dad.

There will never be another one to replace you in our life and in our hearts,
Thank you for the love and life that you have given us.

I love you Dad
I had the pleasure of meeting Dwayne and Justin’s mother, she left a lasting impression of her kindness toward people in general and the Love she “has” for her children and family, most of all her love for the Lord. “Has” isn’t a type –o or a mistake. She is not dead, she is just sleeping, therefore the love she has– is still alive.  We are confident and I say, rather and willing to be absent from the body and present with the Lord.  2 Corinthians 5:8

                                   An Unsung Hero

At some point in life you might have the opportunity to meet someone who in some miraculous way without any thought of self, leading by example and with encouraging words and support, cause you to re-evaluate the way you look at life. A hero in every sense of the word…A man deserving of a place of honor, but satisfied with a simple thank you. A thank you and a promise to pass on a kindness you were blessed to receive and always thriving to do your best and make a difference in someone else’s life.

Mr. Jarvis Calvin Lovett, our hero and friend, sponsored a program at Coleman Medium called “Fathers Behind Bars”; a program, designed to teach young incarcerated men to be better sons, husbands, fathers, and brothers. He constantly reminded us that we were made in God’s image and that first and foremost, we are children of God. Most importantly he emphasized that our first obligation in life is to please God in all we do. His message was “if we pleased God, had respect for God, we would respect ourselves and ultimately our love ones.

If you had a problem, you could count on Mr. Lovett to do everything in his power to help you solve whatever problem you had. Many of the men here have been cut off from their families, especially their children.

Mr. Lovett would call their families when possible to help restore relationships. He would call and help fathers reunite with their children; help men write letters to their children’s teachers, so that they could be kept appraised of their children’s progress in school. Many of the teachers welcomed the opportunity to communicate with the fathers, because they could see changes in many of the childrens lives when they realized their fathers cared.

All this and more Mr. Lovett did because he genuinely cared for each of us. There is nothing I can say or write that would convey how deeply saddened were of Mr. Lovett’s passing.

He is deeply missed. Our hero- our- friend and to many the father they never had the opportunity to know.

On behalf of the men here at Coleman Medium our prayers will always be for his family. We think of thank them for allowing us to share in the life of this remarkable man.

                                                                                                         A MOTHER AT THE CROSS...

As a minister and a writer I've written many articles and short stories on a lot of topics. However, it was not until I had to write something for my mother's home going, that for the life of me, I couldn't find the words to explain or celebrate my mom...my mother.
How does one articulate in words the phenomenal attributes that made this incredible woman the mother she was. Not only to me and my siblings but to every child fortunate enough to come in contact with Ruby Lee Hall, my mother, my best friend. A woman blessed among women.

Remembering her and all she did as my mother, there's one thing that stands out to me the most. She carried me for nine months and from birth she was with me; at the crib, she was in the home, she was in and out of my classes confronting my teachers at school. She walked back and forth when I was sick...praying and sometimes crying because of the pain I was in. Those were not hard places or bad places. Nonetheless, the thing that makes this experience unique; is that she was not only at all of these other places, but when I had my cross to bear, as a result of my bad choices and decisions, and others turned their backs...she was there at the cross...caring, comforting in spite of; my mother, forever  helping me to bear my cross.
